Frankfurt dental fees for anything beyond a routine cleaning are among the highest in Europe. A root canal with crown restoration runs between €1,200 and €2,000 at most Frankfurt practices, depending on complexity and whether you have supplementary dental insurance. Implants run higher. For professionals with good private coverage, some of this is absorbed. For those on statutory insurance or with gaps in their dental cover, the bill lands hard.
What I started noticing was that clients were traveling for treatment. Not to save a small amount. To save a large one.
The destination that comes up most consistently is Albania — specifically Tirana, two hours from Frankfurt by air. The clinics there operate under ISO certification, use the same materials as German practices — Straumann implants, Emax ceramics — and charge fees that run 60 to 70 percent below Frankfurt rates for the same procedures.
For veneers Frankfurt patients specifically, the process has become straightforward. A WhatsApp consultation to share X-rays and get a treatment plan. One short trip. The work done in a day or two. Return. For a root canal the savings cover the flights easily. For implant work the differential is substantial.
The service I have seen clients use is Alba Med Health — they coordinate the full process for patients based in Germany and handle communication in English. The clients who have gone have come back without complaints. That is enough of a recommendation from me.
It is a personal decision. But if you are looking at a significant dental bill in Frankfurt, getting a second quote costs nothing.
